privacy (the short version)
// playing
you never need an account to play. when you play, your browser keeps a random id (in localStorage, not a cookie) so we can count plays and keep your guest scores together. we record which game, when, how long, your score, whether you finished, what kind of device (phone / tablet / desktop) and roughly where you came from (e.g. "tiktok" or "direct").
we don't store your ip address, don't fingerprint your device, don't use third-party trackers, analytics companies or ad scripts, and don't sell anything to anyone.
// accounts (13+)
accounts are for people 13 and older. we ask your birth month and year only to check that, and we don't keep it. an account stores your username, a scrambled (hashed) password, your face pick, favorites and plays. no email, no real name. one cookie keeps you logged in; it's only used for that.
// feedback and leaderboards
feedback you send and names on leaderboards are stored with the game. don't put personal info in them. leaderboard names are filtered and can be reported; we hide anything nasty.
// uploads
games you upload are checked by a person before anyone else can see them, and run in a locked-down sandbox on a separate site.
// deleting stuff
want your account or data gone? email hello@computercooked.com from anywhere with your username and we'll delete it. clearing your browser's site data removes your guest id.
// ads
there are no ads yet. if that changes, this page changes first, and any ads will use child-safe settings.
