terms (plain words)
the deal
computercooked.com is a free site of small browser games made by Computer Cooked. by playing, you agree to these terms and to our privacy page. if you don't agree, don't use the site. we may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do, and if you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply.
who can use it
anyone can play as a guest. accounts are for people 13 and older. if you're under 18, check with a parent or guardian before making an account, sending a tip or buying anything. if we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.
your account
keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account. pick a username that isn't rude, hateful, someone else's name or an ad. we can rename, hide or remove accounts, scores, profiles, feedback and uploads that break these rules or the law, or that look like cheating.
play fair
no cheating leaderboards (editing scores, bots, exploiting bugs on purpose), no attacking or overloading the site, no scraping it in bulk, and no harassing other players through names, challenge links, feedback or uploads. found a bug? tell us at hello@computercooked.com and we'll say thanks.
stuff you send us
feedback, names, challenge links and games you upload stay yours. by sending them, you let us store and show them on the site (and, for feedback, use it to improve the games). uploads must be your own work and safe for a general audience; we review them before anyone else sees them.
our stuff
the games, art, music, characters (yes, including the tired beige computer) and code are ours. share links, clips and screenshots as much as you like. don't copy, re-host or sell the games themselves. you may embed a game using our own embed link.
tips and payments
tips are voluntary, go through Stripe's own payment page, and aren't refundable unless the law says otherwise. tips are for adults (18+, or ask a parent).
no promises
the games are provided as they are. we try hard, but things can break, saves can be lost, and leaderboards can be reset. to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses from using the site, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months (for most people, nothing). none of this takes away rights you have under the law where you live.
